This lifetime home is meant to recover a sense of the old Bucharest where orchards and gardens were buffering relatively large estates, not far from the city centre. During the city’s interwar heydays, living the good life and being a good neighbour was something to take pride in. The rural/urban character of the site allows for a rich modern interpretation of the local vernacular transition spaces: the porch, the stair, the outdoor gallery are all part of the blessed in-between where the passage of seasons is enjoyed at its best.
Currently the outer shell is complete, withstanding the first winter.
