The challenge on this project was to reconcile the public nature of the existing public house on the corner site with the privacy of the 6 unit residential infill. The range of architectural styles and the variation in scale of the buildings in the immediate surroundings, makes Medway Street Conservation Area appear small-scale and intimate. Its character is principally defined by the grouping of small Georgian terrace houses, which run partly along Horseferry Road and Medway Street.
