We have just secured Planning and Listed Building Consent for sympathetic repairs to the Grade II Listed Farmhouse. The house was built in the 16th century and notably altered in the 19th century. The approved proposal is to preserve the historical building fabric and plan form, thereby retaining the extent by which the historical and architectural interest of the house may be appreciated and understood. We have also been appointed to develop a long term masterplan for the associated farmland. Currently our team is researching the traditional Essex agricultural barn as a typology to be reinterpreted in contemporary architectural language, as an expression of traditional local materials.
